The coastguard cottages, Seven Sisters walk
The world famous view of the Coastguard Cottages overlooking Cuckmere Haven. The Seven Sisters chalk cliffs are visible in the distance. Cuckmere haven is a flood plain where the river Cuckmere meets the English Channel. The cottages were originally built, in part, to help stop the area from being a popular location for smugglers. Erosion now threatens the buildings and there are some attempts to preserve them and the iconic view they create.
