A door in the beautiful Banteay Srei temple, Cambodia. Banteay Srei is an amazing temple that sits a bit away from the rest of the Angkor Archeological Park. It is stunningly beautiful with some of the most elaborate sandstone carvings you will ever see. The temple was only rediscovered in 1913. The result is that it was largely preserved from vandalism and destruction, unlike most of the other temples in the area. Its rediscovery brought problems and it was almost immediately pilfered by both western and local thieves. The local authorities stopped much of this and the majority of the temple remains in astonishing condition for visiters to see.
