Glacial ice on the Zugspitze, Bavaria, Germany. Just outside the town of Garmisch-Partenkirchen, the Zugspitze is the highest point in Germany. It lies on the border with Austria and commands incredible views of the surrounding alpine mountains. The Zugspitze is home to three glaciers whose melting ice and snow create shapes and textures like those seen above.
