Southwark Park

Golden leaves in Southwark Park

A pair of golden leaves in Southwark Park. Southwark Park is a bit of an undiscovered treasure. Lost in the list of other grand and famous parks in London I was unaware of it for years. One day I took a walk and ended up in a large, magnificent park. It had open fields, a bandstand, a pond, a cottage garden, an athletic complex and much more. All this was tucked away, seemingly unnoticed in central London and only a few minutes walk from the river. I’m almost tempted to say nothing of it as it’s almost untouched by tourists and mainly used by locals. Alas, I have some lovely pictures from an autumnal stroll through the park one day. I believe these beautiful leaves are from the Old English Cottage Garden.
