Humayun’s Tomb

A view of Humayun’s Tomb in Delhi, India. Humayun was the second Emperor of the Mughal Dynasty and very influential in his time. ‘At the time of his death in 1556, the Mughal Empire spanned almost one million square kilometres.’ [1] His tomb, pictured above, is believed to have been one of a few that inspired the Taj Mahal. At the other end of history, Bahadur Shah II, the last Mughal emperor, was captured here by the British after a failed rebellion.
