The ruins of Corfe Castle

The handsome ruins of Corfe Castle seen early in the morning from a bus in the village. The old castle ruins are on the Isle of Purbeck in southern England. The picturesque ruined walls of the old castle on a hill almost always make for a lovely photo or drawing. The castle is open for visits, and though not very large, they have events for children and adults. The small village is also quite charming with a few quality pubs and eateries. There are a number of walks in the surrounding hills as well as an old heritage rail line. It’s not exactly a quick train ride from London, but it’s not too far and could be an easy weekend excursion.
