The ruins of Corfe Castle

The ruins of Corfe Castle

The handsome ruins of Corfe Castle among the hills on the Isle of Purbeck in southern England. The picturesque ruined walls of the old castle on a hill almost always make for a lovely photo or drawing. The castle is open for visits, and though not very large, they have events for children and adults. The small village is also quite charming with a few quality pubs and eateries. There are a number of walks in the surrounding hills as well as an old heritage rail line. It’s not exactly a quick train ride from London, but it’s not too far and could be an easy weekend excursion.
