Unknown painting, Hungarian National Gallery

An unknown painting from the Hungarian National Gallery. The plaque on the frame is just blurry enough that I can’t read it. The Hungarian National Gallery was a wonderful surprise find in my trip to Budapest. It hadn’t shown up on any of my searches for museums in the city and I stumbled on it by chance in exploring the castle hill. I’m so glad I found it though, as it’s filled with gorgeous paintings. They are all Hungarian and if you’re mostly familiar with popular, western European artwork, they will largely be unknown. That’s the beauty though! It’s gallery after gallery of fresh, though historical, artwork. It’s well-done, not too big, and a lovely visit!
