The Yorkshire Dales must be one of the most beautiful places on earth. Walking here is heaven. Can there be a heaven, but something like this? This spot is descending from Ingleborough summit. Pen-Y-Ghent can be seen in the distance. The lovely little village of Horton-in-Ribblesdale lies hidden in the green valley between the two mountains. I was doing a drawn out version of the well-known ‘Three Peaks Challenge’ for a couple of my four days here. There are many variants to this walk, but mine was loosely based on the one below.
